It is not easy talking about the intimate details of our sex lives; many people keep their worries and concerns to themselves never asking their questions nor receiving answers. Bombarded daily with media images of sexual standards we are “supposed” to aim for, the average person is left wondering why his/her sexual experiences do not match what he/she hears about, sees or reads.
The goal of sex therapy is to provide a safe environment within which individuals and couples can obtain the tools and information they need in order to achieve fulfilling sexual interactions. It is directive (exercises are assigned to be completed at home); time limited (usually 3-6 months); goal oriented (increasing sexual satisfaction).
